After CBI raids on Lalu Prasad Yadav, ED searches farms of Misa Bharti, husband Shailesh in Delhi

The Enforcement Directorate has conducted raids on properties belonging to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti in Delhi. Misa and her husband Shailesh Kumar were present when the ED team reached there for search.
A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids on properties and firms belonging to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today searched farms of his daughter Misa Bharti in Delhi.

Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar were present when ED conducted raid at Sarla Farms at Ghitorni in Mehrauli area of Delhi. The farm house is located about 100 meters from Ghitorni Metro Station.


Two other locations related to Misa Bharti were raided by the ED. These were at Bijwasan and Sainik Farm areas of Delhi.

The raids were conducted as part of probe into allegations of money laundering against Misa Bharti and Shailesh. The ED has conducted raid under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

A probe is underway in a case of alleged laundering of about Rs 8,000 crore. Several people are being investigated in connection with this case which pertains to converting black money into white by floating shell companies.

One of the shell companies floated for the purpose was Mishail Packers and Printers Private Limited. Misa Bharati and Shailesh Kumar are the directors of the company.

According to ED, Mishail Packers and Printers received money from four other shell companies for laundering. The farm houses in Delhi were allegedly bought with the laundered money.


The ED has arrested the owners - Jain Brothers and Shailesh's chartered accountant Rajesh Agrawal - of some of the shell companies. On the basis of investigation, the ED conducted raids on Misa's properties today.
